Rice Farming

Pallisa District, located in Eastern Uganda, is one of the country’s key rice-growing regions. The area benefits from fertile soils, wetlands (such as the Namatala Wetland), and favorable rainfall patterns, making it suitable for both rain-fed and irrigated rice farming.

Rice farming in Pallisa has great potential due to favorable agro-ecological conditions and increasing demand. However, farmers need better access to quality inputs, irrigation, and markets to maximize profits.
